Economy single adequate for a brief stay. Very good evening meal, one of the better steaks I have had for a while, great friendly staff.

Very good staff and amazing breakfast. Which is why I gave the two stars. The building is in a very poor state. In desperate need of renovation. Very poor for noise pollution. Can hear every word from rooms above and beside.
Very nice spacious room and bathroom - with a big corner bath and shower and very comfortable bed. The staff were all lovely, very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very good cooked breakfasts, all local produce, and gluten free bread is available if required. It's right in the centre of Cockermouth, which I'd never visited before, but which is a lovely town to use as a base for exploring the Lake District. All very good value, including Blocks steakhouse where we had dinner. Excellent, would definitely recommend.
